Terry Fox Run Volunteer

Even through small tasks like water refills, volunteering for the Terry Fox Run was a lesson in itself. It allowed me to contribute to the event that supports The Marathon of Hope from Terry Fox and his determination. Although my role as a volunteer was minor, setting up, packing up, making sure runners were hydrated was essential to the event. Just like how a theatre cannot run without backstage members, this event was successful due to volunteers.

Being part of the volunteering team connected me to a larger community. Every helping hand, no matter how small, helped support Terry’s dream and encourage or inspire others as well.

In the end, this experience reminds me that the greatest change often starts with small actions. Like how Terry Fox took one step at a time during his Marathon of Hope, we students contribute bit by bit. Volunteering is not just about tasks, but also creating a ripple effect through a small pebble of change.
