Scrabble Squids

I signed up for Scrabble Squids through the Service Fair, despite having no prior experience. Joining Scrabble Squids was a leap into the unknown— a new activity that instilled wonder and excitement, but also doubt.

Initially, I was uncertain. With no experience in scrabble, I doubted my capabilities, fuelling my hesitation towards playing with others. However, it wasn’t until my friends’ encouragement and support that I started openly participating and learning without fear. In my nervousness and hesitation, I failed to realise that this club was not for fully fledged players, but to teach those eager to learn and pass on knowledge and skills. This realisation allowed me to keep an open mind, and understand that the club was a learning environment, which alleviated my fear of failure and doubts.

My experience in Scrabble Squids taught me that despite lacking experience, don’t hesitate at a chance to learn something new. Furthermore, I developed my mindset towards risk taking, and overcoming fears of failure
